WOMEN MAKING HISTORY: FROM FINNISH PRIME MINISTER SANNA MIRELLA MARIN TO THE SUDANESE REVOLUTION OF 2019
WACRI’s second commemoration of Women’s History Month features recent examples of remarkable women in history. Professor Richard Lobban will present briefly on the Sudanese women in antiquity and Carolyn Fluehr-Lobban will review major developments in 2019 , including the election of Finnish PM Sanna Mirella Marin. Her main presentation features the major role of Sudanese women in overturning 30 years of military dictatorship in 2019.
Dr. Rebecca L. Schiff will also offer a brief presentation on the great American intellectual Hannah Arendt.
The evening will be rounded out by the audience being invited to speak briefly about a woman who made an impact of her or his life.
